SUSTAINABLE DANUBE PROJECT!

Romania has a great and underestimated tresure, the Danube Delta.

It is important for everybody to take care of such a wonderful and fundamental ecosystem, with our daily behaviour.

Unfortunately, this is not a theme that is often discussed within the media mainstream and in the public debate.

That is why our team is working on a challanging project, that is called

<< The Danube Assault >>

The idea is to build a boat made by recycled bottles that will sail on the delta of Danube from Tulcea

to Sfantu Gheorghe, pulling a big kite bringing the main slogan of sustainability:

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

Our goals are to promote sustainable development and sustainable lifestyle, to raise the environmental pollution question on the public debate,

to promote sustainable turism and to contribute to show the world that a fantastic ecosystem is in danger for human behaviours

We have been collecting bottles all week for our Danube Delta project. People in the street were not very willing to leave their bottles at the stand but we are planning new ways to reach our target of around 500 bottles. Right now we have all of these you can see in the picture!

We have a very interesting project in mind related to sustainable development but in order to make it possible we need your help!

All we need is as many 2L and 5L empty plastic water bottles with its CAP (very important!).

Tot ce ne trebuie este sticle de plastic de 2L și 5L de apă goale cu DOPUL (asta e foarte important!).

Our collecting point will be open from 6 PM to 8 PM (or in the morning from 9AM to 10 AM).

Punctul nostru de colectare va fi deschis de la 18 la 20 (sau în dimineaţa de la 9am la 10 AM).

As you may know we are working on an amazing project in which we need PET 2L and 5L empty bottles with caps. Also we are looking for people to lend us for 1 week approximately all other material we need instead of buying it all with our restricted budget :D (If anyone of you works or has contact with a retail and hardware store that can sponsor us or make a special prize for construction material we need please let us know and we will contact you!)

Sustainable Danube Project!

We have really good news!
Our team is starting to work for very interesting, maybe little bit crazy idea/project.
It’s called „Sustainable Danube Project”!

Idea is to build a boat made by recycled bottles that will sail on the delta of Danube from Tulcea
to Sulina, pulling a big kite bringing the main slogan of sustainability: Reduce, Reuse,
Recycle.
The boat will be assisted by an assistance team that will provide support and supplies.

DURATION: Until somebody reacts

"Waiting for Recicling"

TIME: 18:00

What do you have to do? At 18:00 o’ clock everybody must be around the area that surrounds the containers in front of the Cercul Militar National, act normal, as if you’re waiting for something, resting, reading a magazine, eating or talking. Also at 18:00 there will be a person that will start throwing garbage to the floor around the containers, the rest of the people just have to act normal. We just have to wait for the reaction of somebody, possibilities:

a) if somebody reacts and help and put the garbage in the containers, everybody just have to stop acting normal and start clapping and help also to put all the garbage in the right containers.

b) In case that somebody reacts in not such a good way, don’t react unless the guy who’s throwing the garbage to the floor whistles. If you listen to the whistle you all come and put the garbage in the right containers, if there is no whistle, just continue to act casual until somebody try to show the guy where it is suppose to put the garbage and then clapping and separate !

So the point of the flashmob is to people notice that the containers exists, and that we can do more. Also, when it is time to clap the person that helps to put the garbage on the containers, really give that person a strong applause, hug her if you want to ! We want people to not forget about it !

This initiative is part of the Globe in the Mirror II project, initiated by ART Fusion Association and financially supported by the European Comission through Youth in Action Program

EARTH DAY 'Recycling container hunt'

What to do with all these plastic bottles? What about the pieces of used paper? And the glass bottles?
The answer is: Recycle them!

Globe in the Mirror is a team of volunteers within the European Voluntary Service Youth in Action program. One of our many activities is Earth day for which we have planned a 'recycling container hunt' that is going to be organized in order to form a final map of București with all recycling containers marked on it (this will be available on-line). But the city is big, so we need the most people possible to help us fill in this map. Join the 'recycling container hunt' on the 21st April at 4PM at Piața Revoluției and help us find where all the recycling containers are in the city.
You will get a special surprise at the end!

Costume day at school nr. 5

Our Monday session at School nr. 5 started with a "sound-recognition energizer". Then we showed the children how to make costumes out of recycled material: cardboard from fruit and egg boxes or plastic bottles.
They were very creative, came up with great ideas and designed warrior, princess and robot costumes with little help from us.
At the end there was a catwalk to show the creations to everyone.

In the last weeks we've been busy with the workshops at the Special School nr 5 !

The first session at the school was all about getting to know each other, introducing ourselfs and to learn more about those kids.

Then at the second activity day with those wonderful kids it was all about music and sounds ! Since we are promoting a sustainable lifestyle, we worked only with recycled material or material that could be recycled after ! Instead of playing with the usual instruments we teached them how to built instruments from the recycled material.

With a lot of creativity and a few laughs everybody end up with an instrument, and such good instruments ! From bell drums to rainsticks from used papper toilet roles, everything was possible !

At the end, after a concert from the small ensembles created, we made an orchestra ! And what an orchestra ! Vigour, energy and a lot of rhythm, the percussion orchestra end up playing with a violin and different maestros ! It was impressive.

Soon there will be a movie about it, wait for it !

One month has passed since we all arrived to Bucureşti !

Lately we've been quite busy with workshops and formation, beside that we have been discovering the town, and what a town !

We start working with the kids from the special school nr 5, and we're working on a movie to present our activities with the kids, so, soon there will be news on this topic !

After more than 2 months our movies are finally finished. It was a big effort to record, cut, edit these 5 movies. We also were in Lemon Studio and recorded the music of our movies - we did it ourselves with the help of Radu, our sound ingineer and composer.

We wanted to keep the same artistic spirit on the end of our project, so we created 5 movies to express the topic of our project. These movies are powerfull tools to be used especially in working with young people on MDGs and sustainable development topics.

Hello to all!

We were very very busy in the last weeks: preparing our postcards and our movies. All of these will be ready very soon.

Meanwhille we also went in Fetesti at "Floarea Ialomiteana" Festival during 17-18 september and we did our last street action "Chalk writting" in Cismigiu park. You have here a few photos from the street action. We were very surprinsed by the big number of people interested in our messages and they wanted to discuss with us about sustainable development.

Street Action Maternal Health

Goal nº 5

Our street action about maternal health was very simple, but very direct.
We make it in Universitat, in the streets and close of the metro station.
Each girl had a baloon in her belly, and someone came and just make it explode, and our head just follow.Someone speaks in Romanian to explain some numbers.It represents the mothers that died, when they give birth.
It represents the MDG'S goal nr.5.
With this street action, we pretend remember people, of some numbers, about this goal.

Drawings and photos exhibition 9 – 22 August

Special School nr.5 .... a special place for us

During 1 month and half our Team Worked in Special School nr. 5 with this wonderful Kids... Our work was to let our kids know about MDG'S, in a funny way, specially about the goal nº 7, Ensure environmental sustainability. In the beginning we started to construct a relation with them, presenting ourselves, and our countries, and differences of culture, but common things too. We chose many ways to teach them, showing maps of Europe, of each country where we came from, and in this way we learned about Romania too. As a method of expression, we used many methods of non formal education, because it is a good way, special with kids. Some games, inside or outside of the class, to put them the conscience of being in a team, were everybody helps. We showed them short films about MDG's, we organised a Treasure Hunt with MDGs for them, we made clothes with garbage, plastic, bags, bottles, for a competition between schools, were they won the first place. In this way they learned that, even the garbage is useful and it can be a wonderful material to work in school and showing them that all of us, are responsible to help, with very simple and small things. To finish our project there, we asked them to make some drawings about MDG'S, and to see what they understood about our work. And this is the result of our work. Our hope now is that they grow up, taking care of this planet, taking care about the others and themselves too.

In the same time with the workshops we did in School nr. 5 we had a workshop made by one of the EVS volunteers, Lorca about the photographic techniques and how to do photos. After the workshop we started brainstorming ideas about how we can express in photos the Millennium Development Goals. The results is here in the Photo Exhibition.

Globe In the Mirror puting color on the old center!

This is the result of our street action shadow, yesterday in the center.
We start at 20h in Universitat metro station and we just walk around the old center, Lipscani, where everybody was resting and drinking a beer in the end of the day.
So, yesterday they had a extra Bonus, they had the chance to smile and to have fun with us, to recieve hugs, and jokes that they don't have everyday!
We just pass, and we interact with all, in diferent ways...and this action always have diferent impacts, depending on the place.In a big city like Bucuresti, is very good to see people having fun with us, and just forget the stress of the day!Some people just joined us, and follow us during the action...it was so funny!
Whit this action, we wanted to promote our blog and for that we gave some cards.In this wasy we promote has well the MDG'S and sustaintable development in a funny way.
Colorful, free, positive, is what this action makes on us, and in the ones that watch us.

This weekend, globe in the mirror team, was in the countryside, to visit the gradmother of Andreea.
Afther 5 hours by train we arrived in Roman.The brother of Andreea was waiting for us.
It was a moment to rest, and to feel the deep Romania, the way that people live, the way they eat, they dance, they fight for life.
We learned, how to make, placinta, and many other things.
A wonderful family, that gave to us the better they had,a very warm happiness.

Tusvanios Festival

Globe in the mirror, was in Tusvanyos, after the Mid-term training in Predeal.

Tusvanyos, is an Hungarian festival, that happens since 21 years till now in Tusnad.
Good music, camping places everywhere, and hungarian food.
We were surrounded by green mountains, and happy faces, with some rain during the days.
We made a street action there, the shadows, and everybody smiled when we interact with childrens, young people and old people.
And important is the message that we passed.

In our free time,we were in the lake St. Ana, one part of the group by foot, during 6h to come and back, and the others by car, with the president of the council of Cluj...yes we met him, what a adventure!
The lake is wonderful and amazing place to swim, and enjoy the silence.
Of course afher these days, we know more about Hungarian traditions, music, and beautiful places, inside of Hungarian parts of Romania.

Globe in the Mirror Festival@Vama Veche ended Sunday. We had an amazing 3 days full of activities. We meet people and we made them smile with our street theater, forum theater, street animation and movie projections.

Lorka and me have been hiking in the very beginning of the Carpathians mountains during one week-end.

We've been there by bus, from Bucuresti it takes approximately 2h30. We had barely entered the minibus that a Spanish guy, 62 years old, very smart, spoke with us. He was going to visit old friends. Actually he was one of the rare foreign student to study in Romania during the communist times ! He lived 14 years more in Romania to work and had many interesting stories to tell us ! It was a bit diffidult for me to turn to Spanish, but actually, I prefer the spanish word music than English, so I enjoyed this spanish speaking trip !

Barely arrived in Sinaia's railway station a taxi driver took us for the same price as the telecabine would cost us to reach the second telecabine: Cota 2000. Then we took the telecabine and arrived into the clouds ! Nothing to see further than 50m !

Anyway, we walk to reach the refuge we want to reach: Cabana Babele. After 3h30 walking we reach this cabana ! And lucky us; they have 2 beds for us ! (A few weeks later, Fabienne has been there and didn't have this luck ! ) So, quite tired we slept at 10pm.

An oral contract between me and Lorca was to wake up when the sunrise was coming ! What we did, look at the photo in the night, they are taken from 4h30 in the morning !

A few hours later, after some self-asking philosophical questions about our ability or not to reach this famous Cabana Omu, at 2506m high, we reached this high point ! A few days after, Tiberiu, volunteer in ART Fusion, revealed us it's one of the highest point of Romania ! YEAH ! We did it !

Recycle Race !

This is one of our creation: the recycle race ! The aim of this action is to sensibilize people to recycle and to explain them what can - concretely - become a bottle after recycling, for example. This street action is designed to be played close to a recycle point with 3 different bins: Plastic in blue, Glass in green, Paper in yellow. Scenario: 3 of us are disguised in athletes and will run in a slow motion style towards one of these recycle bin. One "non recycling persons" empeach them during their race to symbolise the problem that have - here in Romania - people to recycle. But the athletes always win, together "beating" the "enemy". The idea is to show that it's always possible to make an effort an that together we can collaborate. At the end the athletes have a trophy handmade by us with garbage. We played this 5 minutes street actions in Herastrau Park and in Tineretului Park, we'll continue it in Vama-Veche on the beach during a whole week-end.

Fond Camp in Covasna!

Last week we spent 4 days participating to the Romanian Development Camp, organised by FOND association. The aim of this camp was to gather different actors of the development cooperation field, (NGOs, ministries, members of Parliaments, journalists...) to speak about topics related to this, and especially the role of new EU members like Romania as donor countries and in the achievement of Millenium Development Goals.
It took place in Covasna, close to the mountains, in a 4 stars hotel...!! and our task was to ensure that everything goes well, guidind people, holding the microphones during the debates, taking notes for reports, answering to the questions of the participants...
and of course, it was the occasion for us to listen to conferences about topics related to our project, see movies and meet very interesting people.
Even though we were quite ashamed sometimes to stay in such a luxury place talking about these topics...we enjoyed a lot this camp and the people there were quite interested in our EVS project, we had intense work reflexions and very good free times together.
Too bad that the weather was so bad that we couldn't really discover Covasna, but we were already lucky to be able to participate to this event, to stay in a place that we probably never experience again, and we will try to use what we learned in the future and discover more by ourselves !

Fond Camp in Covasna!

Tomorrow morning early, starts the Fond Camp.A seminar that will happen in Covasna, in the mountains of Transilvânia.We are not there to rest, but to work.Our days will start at 7 am, we must have breakfast before the 90 participants, and prepare everything.We will work all day till 20 am, and then yes, we can take a dip in the pool, and relax.A lots of figures relating to the MDG'S will be present, which is a unique opportunity to learn and to listen to them, because we can participate in discussions and sessions. Our functions is guide and assist all participants during the seminar, pass microphones, translations, registration of participants, etc ...
The theme is MDG'S that concerns us greatly, and in which we worked on our project, the Globe in Mirror.The 8 goals of Millenium!
I have no doubt that we will be tired at the end of the day, but in a place like this, surely we can breathe the fresh mountain air and return to Bucharest richer and with new ideas.

This week-end took place a street festival named Street Delivery, in Strada Verona in Bucuresti. This was organised by Cartureste and we went to enjoy it during our free time.

The street was closed to let place to a lot of people presenting handmade craft, second hand clothes, jewels…and so much beautiful things !

Some spaces were organised to chill out, and we could enjoy DJs sets, and street circus animations.

For us, it was the occasion to meet with other volunteers and some friends and have a good time there. Rita even involved herself in the project of another association selling lemonade to get money for the children who have cancer.

We really liked the concept of this festival. The atmosphere was good and the people there very cool. Too bad it’s only one week-end and not every week-end of the summer ! ;-)

Official end of School/ Exibithion

The official end of school.
They were very beautiful...and nervous.
Fabienne and Me (Rita), we were there to look at their little play about environment and say goodbye one more time, and to prepare our exibithion, outside. Photos, and some recycle materials, that we made during these weeks.
The happiness to see each other one more time was a mutual feeling.
We hope that our work was a gift for the future of this kids.Because all of us can change this world, and put it better.

Last activitie in School nº 5!

It was a real treat, the last day of activities in shcool nº 5.
We cooked typical things of each of our countries ... crepes, rice pudding, bread with garlic and olive oil, tea, cakes, and a lots of music and dance to say goodbye.It was so nice!
What we got with our work there, we don't not know yet, but one day will see the results of this part of the project at school nº 5.
I believe that we always leave a little piece of something.
And if we do not believe this, then we are lost!
The goodbye was in this day...but i did not know that i will coming back.
We will miss them, and it was a great time together !her.

RECYCLE RACE

Come to see your new street action !

On saturday 12th of June, near the main entrance of Herestrau (Aviatorilor)
we will make a new street theatre from 2.30 pm

This street action is about recyling, and will put on scene funny runners and other characters...the message being that we are all winners if we recycle together.

Don't hesitate tom come to cheer and encourage the runners, discover the recycle trophee, or getting real information about recycling and the consequences of our acts on the planet.

We walked around the old center, discovering plans and the secrets of Bucuresti.

Our first street action !

We participate in the African day presenting some street action in Bucuresti.
Tuesday 25th, Thursday 26th and Friday 28th, we participate in different happenings to promote MDGs concerning Africa.

We already appeared in different places like Piata Universitate and Piata Unirii.

Our street actions have one goal: to raise awareness of bucuresti citizens for some topics. In Africa, even if it's far away from daily problems of most of them, too many people don't eat enough, too many don't have any access to medical treatment...

So, for that we present a short street theatre play connected with MDGs.

We distribute balloons with messages connected with Africa about the 8 MDGs.

And our last action is to write Loesje creative text writing with Chalk onto the pavement in the places we make our theatre play. Our text will stay a while, some persons will see it and maybe they will think about it ? !

Our first spectators were passing by, some stopped, a few had a small conversation with us, for them we keep in touch. But anyway, we'll do it again in different places, and for sure reach more people !

And for the few we are in this big city, we do our best to help in our way !

Tresure Hunt with school nº 5

Today, finally happened the treasure hunt in the park with our children at school nº 5.
They are special, they are different and their difference is what I love.
The day was hot and the sun was burning.They arrived in the park,and they made us felt it.
The treasure hunt has followed and they behaved very well, easily found where the messages were hidden inside the bottles.In the end we made an activity of consolidation, we opened the bottles and read what was inside.We present the objectives of MDGs, eight goals and each team had to find four.
Between poverty, environmental problems, infant mortality, access to education ... we try to make them understand that they are lucky because they have the basic conditions.
Our hope is that they feel touched to protect and be attentive to the problems of the world and that they don't will not feel alien to it ... because it is a problem of everybody.And little things can help.
The message was passed and it was a good time seeing them outside of school, free to run through the park... or rolling around the grass!
It's so good being a kid!

EVS presentation in Miercurea Ciuc's High Schools

Our project is an EVS: European Voluntary Service.
This project initiated by the European Union is open to every young people between 18 and 30 years old.

One of our task here in Romania, in common with all the EVS, is to promote this program.
For this we 've been to several high Schools during our visit in Miercurea Ciuc.

We've presented a PPT of our vision of EVS, admnistrative points, how to apply, what is EVS, what is not, etc.

Actually, at the beginning, our presentation was very boring, in myopinion. We just read the slides like robots. Mainly because we didn't want to loose important informations but also because we weren't used to speak in front of 40 or 50 high school's student !

After a few presentations, our presentation became more and more efficient, our group became more self confident and we changed our introduction. For example we asked for the student to put their chair in circle to speak about their project in the future, travels, volunteering and why not applying for an EVS ?

This way permitted us to speak more freely and also to make connections easier with them, avoiding the "Teacher - Student barrier".

The fact is that after 5pm, we had an other activity to promote EVS: the living Library - you can read more about it here ! And at this event we saw high schools students coming back to us to know more about us !

In my opinion we succeeded in making them curious ! It's already a great step !

EVS PROJECT

So, we are 6 volunteers from different European countries living and working together in Bucharest, Romania, for 6 months (April – September 2010). The fact that we are able to come together and live and work on a project without any cost from us is because we are participating in the European Voluntary Service. This is a project from Youth in Action and it funds volunteers from any EU country (and some volunteers from countries outside of the EU too, like Turkey) to volunteer in another EU country (and sometimes also countries outside the EU like Brazil or the USA). There are many different projects in many different countries you can take part in, you can search the database here: http://ec.europa.eu/youth/evs/aod/hei_en.cfm Not all projects are active all the time so it’s worth sending some emails to see which projects are available or if any similar projects are planned by the organisation in the future. Globe in the mirror

Our project is called Globe In The Mirror and its aim is to raise awareness amongst young people in Romania of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Sustainable Development through non-formal education and participative arts such us social theatre, street animation, video animation, photography and music and anything else we can think of. We create our own project using whatever methods we are interested in – ART Fusion are very flexible and supportive of us. We also participate with other related organisations such as FOND Romania and get involved with their events.

Additionally we aim to promote volunteering amongst young people and promote awareness of the EVS programme.

To sum up, the project Globe in the Mirror aims to overcame all language barriers and to raise awareness about global issues which are topics of considerable matter of nowadays society and to emphasise the importance of taking attitude (ARTitude!) in solving these problems.

LIVING LIBRARY IN MIERCUREA CIUC

In Miercurea Ciuc (Csíkszereda) took place the Biblioteca Vie (Living Library) in a bar named Café of the four wise skinned (kávéház a négy bölcs sintérhez) the 4-5 and 6 of may.

In the living library you can “read” many living books like prisoners, psychologists, artists, photographers, teachers, american man, international volunteers, officers.. among others.

The living library works like a normal library but the books and the dictionaries are living people. You can ask all that you want and the books can give their own experience. For me it's so interesting because both sides are learning.

“It was really great! I could have read all the books, while I was making translation. I could read even books, which I wouldnt if I was a simple reader, for example the social worker. I found out things which really touched me.”

It was three days very interesting. Attended by people of all ages interested in many things and i'm sure that they learned many things. For example, i spoke with a prisoner and his experience was so tragic and exciting. He will write a book and he found his own truth in jail. For me he was a really good person. I could speak with a journalist too and we spoke about the actual situation about general press.

It's so interesting to learn things from the experience of other people, it's not only the theory, but you can see what is behind.

I think that it's a good idea and i hope that other countries “copy” this concept to do it because it's also a way to talk face to face in the internet era...

To close the library event on the last day we had the concert of Dutevino (www.dutevino.ro) and it was so funny and we enjoyed a lot!

Brasov

Finaly, we were in Brasov!
After our work in Miercurea Ciuc, we take the train to Brasov, and we´ve been hosted thanks to Couchsurfing, so we had a cheap solution in this town.
Was wonderful, discover a new city in Romania, totaly diferent of Bucuresti.
A town quieter, cleaner, surrounded by green mountains, which makes us want to loose by the streets. The people that hosted us in the city and made us a guided tour, was very nice, and they were with us, in many secret places in Brasov.
We had only two days, to walk in downtown and recognize what was local.And we done it, while some saw a festival of short movies, others climbed the mountain cable car.
At night, Brasov soothes even more, but we easily found the place where entertainment reigns, and we danced, danced until we leave the street where we sat, watching the stars and hear water running.
We were sleeping m, Fabienne and Giom in the same bed, but does it matter when we are experiencing a beautiful adventure in our lives, and comfort means nothing.
We left Brasov,by a train, and others by minibus, and the difference in hours to get to Bucharest is large.The team train, me, Giom and Lorka, we take four hours, and the team's of Minibus, Kristine and Fabienne, they take two hours and a half afterwards.
But the train trip is so fabulous and i not exchanged it for anything, i could talk, sleep, see unique landscapes from the mountains, which are unlikely to forget.
We will certainly return to Brasov, with more time to visit or maybe even work on some street action or festival.

School nº 5

One part our activities in the project takes place in a school, where we go every week.

Our goal is to play with the children and make some activities in an interactive way to sensibilise them to sustainable development and MDGs, showing them that they can participate at their level…!

The school is called school nr.5, and it’s for children with some social background or disabilities. They couldn’t reach the level of a normal school for various reasons, and try to learn together in this one. Anyway, they are all very enthusiastic and can understand a lot of things !!!

First we introduced ourselves making some funny presentations about our countries. They liked it very much because it’s the first time they meet foreign people, and always want to know more…they even revise what they learn about it with their teacher, Irina, very often !

Then, we helped them to create clothes with garbage and recycled things, that they showed in a contest between schools, and won the first price !

We always prepare and play a lot of games with them. This is very important to get to know each other, have fun together, and to allow them to put outside some things in an indirect and not forbidden way…

During the next meetings, we will make a treasure hunt about the different MDS, trying to make themselves think about some topic and guess answers to some questions…then we’ll try to bring them more elements about it, adapted to them like with videos and games…we will also make artistic activities, paintings and drawings about what they feel about this and organise exhibitions in the school and other places. The last meetings will be dedicated to create some useful objects with garbage, and finally, a good-bye party with cooking together food of our different countries !

We are very happy to work with this school, and even though we don’t speak our language, Cristina, our coordinator, Ana and Monica, some Romanian volunteers from Art Fusion and Irina, the teacher, are always here to translate. But anyway, the communication with them is easy and we can feel a lot of things and send our message even without talking, and create relationships with Bubu, Razvan, Alin, Adi, Alex, Mihai and the others…that enriches everyone!

My name is Kristīne and I am 25 years old. I come from Latvia, but I live in the Netherlands.

In short about myself: I am friendly and I like to help people. My friends and family play a great role in my life as my daily source of support, joy and happiness. They are my treasure.

One of my passions is travelling. I like to see new places and meet new people. During my travels I like to get to know local people, their culture, traditions and living standards. That’s why I am also an active member of the Couchsurfing. I am always open to new experiences in other countries and I definitely feel myself as a European citizen. Another passion of me is dancing. I have been dancing during all my school time at a youth dance group and I still enjoy dancing very much. I love watching good movies and I like to visit cultural events like festivals, concerts, exhibitions etc.

At the moment my motto of life is a Loesje text: The world is too round to sit silently in the corner.

I chose this particular organization and project because I have been involved with the MDGs and sustainable development already before and I find this topic very interesting.

My name is Hannah, I'm 26 years old and from the UK. I'm volunteering for the project because I'm interested in the MDGs and sustainable development and non-formal education through participative art. I was also a volunteer for the previous ART Fusion EVS project about gender issues, and found this experience very interesting and useful to gain more experience in non-formal education and participative arts and how art can be used to increase awareness of social issues - things that I am really passionate about and fascinated by. So when the opportunity to stay for longer and learn even more was realised, I was very happy. I am also happy that this project is taking place during spring and summer after surviving winter in Bucharest! And I am excited about the greater opportunities for street actions that the summer months will bring.

I find Romania very interesting and I am looking forward  to experiencing another 6 months here. 

In my  spare time..... when I have any..... I like to drink TEA (of course) and  listen to music.... go running (trying to avoid dogs, of course) and  see live music, especially local bands whenever possible. Did I mention  that i like drinking tea?

Hello, I'm Rita from Portugal, Lisbon, the city where the sun always bright!
I'm 28 Years old, and i'm Educator.I love my work with Kids, and for me is a pleasure and a big responsability help them to grow.
I am volunteer in my country since i had 14 years old, and i can't imagine my life with out that!Last year i worked like volunteer in a psychiatric hospital, and i learned so many things about life.
I made volunteer work in many countries, in summer camps, in work camps, and i am always open to new experiences,people, cultures, diferences.
I like to understand this Globe, called Heart, because i live here now, and i cannot just pass, and don't see, i have to feel!
I believe that the future can be better, and we have always something to do, for the others.
This is why i choose Romania, to make my project and EVS.This country is Reborning slowly, and there are so many things to do.

Hi ! I’m Fabienne, from France (Lyon, best city ever ;-) and I’m 24. I studied social work and cultural management in performing arts, and I made different jobs and internships in artistic companies, festivals and cultural institutions…I was living in Belgium for one year before coming here, participating in another European programme named Eurodyssée…I have also been a volunteer in an association in Lyon, and I came here in EVS wishing to make some changes in the people we work with, and also in myself, hoping to learn as much as I hope to make them learn…

What else about me, well, I may be the more quiet person but I see everything and never miss anything, trying to bring my little piece in this team and project !

For me, Romania is banks, farmacies, casinos, dogs, cables…but also, a strong culture, beautiful places and a lot of friendly people !
